Managing Successful Programmes(MSP) and PRINCE2 offer standard approaches to the "what and how" of good programme, and project management. MSP is a best practice model that ensures programmes are delivered on time and within budget with the required benefits.

This 3.5 day course carries 24 PDUs and is ideal for:

  • Senior Executives
  • Programme Sponsors
  • Programme Managers
  • Business Change Managers
  • Programme and Project Management Consultants

MSP is a framework for Managing Successful Programmes. It provides the vital link between business strategy and projects. MSP gives an organisation a framework for programme management. The MSP method is flexible and adaptable for any type and size of programme where delivery of strategic change is the desired outcome.

There is a close link between MSP™ and PRINCE2®

A programme is made up of a number of projects, which, if co-ordinated or integrated into the programme, are more likely to help your organisation achieve its strategic goals and deliver measurable benefits. Programme management is the co-ordinated management of inter-dependent projects which all contribute to a new business capability. However, co-ordinating the project portfolio, ensuring that benefits are realised and making sure that the programme stays in touch with business strategy, is a major management challenge. It is this challenge to which MSP responds.

The Practitioner examination leads to the internationally recognised certification as an MSP Practitioner. Candidates take the certification examinations as part of the training. Through the application of the MSP method delegates will be able to:

  • Better manage the implementation of strategic plans.
  • Close the gap between strategy and effective delivery of projects,
  • More effectively deliver strategic change through integrated planning and implementation while ensuring current business operations are not adversely affected,
  • Achieve more effective resource management through project prioritisation and integration,
  • Deliver real business benefits through a formal management process, and
  • Keep activities focused on the business change objectives by providing a framework for senior management to direct and manage the change process.

Assessment: MSP Foundation

  • Multiple-choice
  • Forty minutes duration
  • 50 questions
  • 30 correct answers or more are required to pass
  • Closed-book.
